Apartment 507: The Story of Au Shee

Sunday, March 26, 2017 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Time Zone: America/Los_Angeles
Local Time: Sunday, March 26, 2017 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

On this day, we officially add the story of Au Shee, a long-time resident in our historic Kong Yick building, who helped build Seattle's Chinatown to our Historic Hotel tours. By recreating her apartment in our historic space as a fully interactive exhibit, her story brings to light the lives of immigrant women from the early 20th century to present.

At 1:30pm and again at 2:30pm, Elana Lim, the granddaughter of Au Shee, will be speaking about her memories and her grandmother's legacy. The presentation will be the same for each time slot.

If you haven't already done so, please register for a brief 30 minute tour focused specifically to this new addition to our historic space by emailing tours@wingluke.org. Space is limited for this brief mini tour of Apt. 507.

Apt. 507 will be accessible through our regularly scheduled Historic Hotel tours throughout this day and on every Hotel tour day.
