When Rabbit Left the Moon

Thursday, August 3, 2017 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM

In this beautiful and moving 14 minute video poem, award winning filmmaker Emiko Omori (Rabbit in the Moon, 1999) reflects upon the 75th year anniversary of the passing of Executive Order 9066 that resulted in the imprisonment of over 100,000 Japanese immigrants and their American-born children during World War II. The film is nonrated and suitable for all ages, although it does show an image of the atomic bomb.To be shown throughout the day from 10:30am-4:30pm. First Thursday is a free day.

This film showing is in conjunction with two current exhibitions at The Wing: Year of Remembrance: Glimpses of a Forever Foreigner and Teardrops that Wound: The Absurdity of War.
